Through its social, medical, educational, spiritual and vocational interventions, ASUP offers prisoners a second chance – a new life, with dignity and purpose. Our mission is to support the personal transformation, inner healing and reintegration into society of those in detention.
ASUP volunteers support people deprived of their liberty by providing them with essential goods – food, clothing, medicine – and counseling for those abandoned by their families.
Through volunteer doctors and assistants, ASUP organizes free seminars and medical tests, promoting a healthy and responsible lifestyle among prisoners.
ASUP contributes to the education of those in detention through school courses, volunteer teachers, and financial support for higher education.
Through spiritual meetings and free Bible courses, ASUP offers inmates moral support, spiritual guidance, and the chance for a transformed life.
ASUP facilitates training in trades such as barbering, tailoring or beekeeping, offering prisoners a real chance at reintegration through work after release.
Charity actions are a way in which we can help those in need, with problems. They have contributed to creating a more generous, more merciful world in which people do not only think about their own well-being, but also about the well-being of those around them.
Through the social module, ASUP volunteers offer prisoners various personal goods, food, as well as other items such as: clothing, shoes, medicine, glasses, envelopes, stamps, etc. Those abandoned by their families are donated food packages and are enrolled in the personal counseling program.
Our lifestyle directly influences our health. Thus, adopting a healthy lifestyle would be the first step towards our health. However, the concept of a “healthy lifestyle” is a complex one and requires a focus on overcoming harmful habits.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), health is a state of complete physical, spiritual and social well-being, not just the absence of disease or physical defects.
Healthy living is also about taking responsibility for our decisions and making healthy choices now and for the future.
Through the medical module, specialized ASUP volunteers (doctors, nurses) come to people deprived of their liberty and, through theory and practice (medical seminars as well as events like HEALTH EXPO – free analyses: blood sugar, cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure, heart age, etc.), offer hope, knowledge and a new vision of a new, different, healthy lifestyle.
A society whose members lack education is a society without hope for a good future, a society in which rules that have the role of individual and collective evolution and development cannot be established.
The importance of education within our society is enormous. An educated, trained generation, to which moral, cultural and historical values have been transmitted, can carry forward the legacy received from predecessors and can give the future a chance for the better. An educated society can differentiate between good and evil, between negative and positive influences.
The importance of education is essential for the development of the person in a social context and, implicitly, for the development of a society.
Through specialized volunteers (teachers, educators, etc.), ASUP helps with the school preparation of persons deprived of their liberty.
ASUP also financially supports persons deprived of their liberty who express their desire and succeed in enrolling in an institution of higher education.
While he lived on earth, Jesus interacted with a multitude of people from various categories. He was often caught in the midst of people who were not well-received by society. He believed that all people should hear the good news and have the opportunity to change their lives.
The ethical-moral meetings aim to transmit God's unconditional love to every person, familiarize them with the Holy Scriptures, as well as initiate them into what is known as THEOLOGY - the knowledge of God.
ASUP benefits from a partnership with the Institute of Biblical Studies by Correspondence SOLA SCRIPTURA, an institute that offers completely free systematic courses on BIBLE, FAMILY, HEALTH, etc.
Following these meetings, beneficiaries are encouraged to introspect and research life, processes through which their lives can change for the better.
During their detention, the Humanitarian Service Association for Prisons offers prisoners the opportunity to qualify for a new job.
This helps those who have been released and have obtained a vocational retraining diploma to find a job more easily and reintegrate into society.
The courses that prisoners can enroll in are the following: vegetable grower, tailor, stoker, auto mechanic, beekeeper and hairdresser.
